The name Wild Boar is inspired by the crest of the O’Malley clan. The O’Malleys are from Clew Bay in the West of Ireland.

Damian’s father Michael grew up there and is buried in the graveyard of Murrisk Abbey, which overlooks the bay.

The clan motto Terra Marique potens ‘powerful by land and sea’ stems from the time of the legendary pirate queen, Grace O’Malley, also known as Granuaile, who ruled the West Coast of Ireland in the 17th Century.
